Join our Parks Services team join the City of Rockingham's Parks Services team and play a key role in maintaining and expanding the City's urban tree canopy. Reporting to the Tree Management Supervisor, you will undertake a variety of urban forestry activities including tree planting, establishment, pruning, vegetation management and tree maintenance. You will also assist with tree risk assessments, operate horticultural equipment and machinery, maintain tree asset records using mobile technology, and provide technical support to team members. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to the health, resilience and growth of the City's urban forest while delivering high-quality services to the community.

To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria as part of your online application:

  • Certificate III in Horticulture, Arboriculture, or equivalent experience
  • Current MR Class Driver's Licence
  • White Card and Basic Worksite Traffic Management Certificate
  • Chainsaw Operator Certificate
  • Demonstrated experience in tree planting, establishment and ongoing care
  • Demonstrated experience in formative pruning of juvenile trees
  • Practical knowledge and experience of tree species suited to Perth (WA) conditions
  • Sound communication skills
  • Strong commitment to safe work practices

This position offers a weekly wage of $1,488 (gross) which incorporates all allowances and penalty rates, as well as:

  • 12% superannuation with the option to co-contribute up to a further 5%
