Youth Librarian
SALARY: $81,771 - $93,707 p.a. + Super
Work Type: Permanent Full Time - 35 hours per week
Location: Camden Libraries - Camden, Narellan and Oran Park

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Youth Librarian to join our Library Programs Team.
Your passion and flair for contemporary library practices will see you develop and deliver innovative and inclusive community driven and informed programs for our youth.
Camden Council has three programs-based libraries with creative spaces and facilities, alternative lending collections and opportunities to reach our families in our community in new and innovative ways.

Essential:
- University level qualifications (Degree or Graduate Diploma) in Library and Information Science or equivalent, and eligibility for professional membership of ALIA
- Proven ability to develop and coordinate programs for young people with demonstrated knowledge of syllabus requirements and young people's development
- Proven ability to engage with all library customers and communicate effectively to provide high quality customer service
- Proven experience using technologies including web content and social networking technologies
- Current high level digital literacy skills, with the confidence to support customers with diverse technology including online and virtual collections and services, across multiple devices, platforms, apps and software
- General knowledge of library policies, practices, relevant legislation, and current trends in libraries
- Proven ability to work in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to effectively organise and prioritise workloads
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment including new or emerging technologies
- Demonstrated ability to apply EEO and WHS
- Current Drivers Licence and Working with Children Check
Desirable:
- Experience delivering youth services in public libraries
- Grant writing experience
