Salary
$82,534 to $92,425 per annum (based on 70 hours per fortnight), plus superannuation and a 9 day fortnight. Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications and experience

About the role
The Project Officer is responsible for surveillance, overseeing and reporting of the work performed by contractors to ensure projects are delivered to specified quality, cost, schedule and specifications. The position has an important role to develop confidence of the Council’s ability to successfully achieve intended project deliverables and outcomes. The position will work closely with key stakeholders, including across Council Directorates, business partners, consultants, contractors and the community to develop effective relationships that support an efficient delivery of the Council’s project commitments.
Position requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering or Project Management, or equivalent experience
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence
- Current General Construction Induction Training Card (or willing to obtain)
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)
About you
You will have:
- demonstrated experience relevant to the role including experience working as Construction supervisor or similar in large scale civil infrastructure projects
- sound understanding of technical drawings, construction methods, standards, statutory requirements of various acts and regulations (e.g WHS) and how they are applied
- highly developed communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflict and negotiate satisfactory outcomes within the context of project management and site supervision
- basic knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel
