Council is currently seeking an enthusiastic Team Leader Civil Construction.  The position manages the crews and staff undertaking maintenance works to ensure the teams achieve the scheduled works and services contained in the maintenance programs in an efficient, timely and effective manner.  Maintenance works include construction of roads, drainage, footpaths, gravel re-sheeting, heavy patching, bridgework, reconstruction of culverts, kerb and gutter.

The position also provides an elevated level of service in the maintenance of Councils’ Infrastructure and during the construction of capital projects.

We are seeking candidates that take pride in their work, have a positive attitude, are punctual, reliable, hardworking, and able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment. The candidate will bring the following to the role:

  • Certificate level qualification in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience in the field of construction and maintenance such as signage, roads and drainage
  • Demonstrated experience in the supervision and leadership of multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience in the use of systems to collect and record the necessary day labour activity data with ability to adapt to new technologies
  • Experienced in championing safety and wellness and complying with safety responsibilities
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to determine plant and material requirements for major road and drainage maintenance and projects, including ability to interpret plans and execute works instructions
  • Valid Class C Licence
  • Safework NSW General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • Physically capable/ fit to undertake the manual handling required in the role

Remuneration: base salary commencing at $68,704 gross per annum

+ adverse working conditions allowance at $1,035 gross per annum

+ 11.5% superannuation

+ performance payment 1% - 3.5% annual salary

+ annual award increase
