About the Job
Bathurst Regional Council is currently seeking a suitability qualified person to manage the operations of Council’s child care services in the role of Children’s Services Coordinator. The role will oversee the management of both Scallywags Long Day Care and Preschool and Bathurst Family Day Care.
The successful applicant will have pervious experience, be self-motivated, able to work in a fast-paced environment and committed to the provision of quality education and care. The right person wants to be part of an organisation that values the wellness, safety and education of children aged 0-5 years.
The Children’s Services Coordinator will provide innovative leadership, provide support and guidance to both long day care, family day care staff, educators and stakeholders.
The Coordinator will be required to be proficient at all levels of communication and have the ability to mentor and motivate a large team.
Council is seeking an innovative Coordinator that will assist in making the service a point of difference from other child care providers.
The successful applicant will have relevant tertiary qualifications in education and care and experienced in long day care and family day care and hold Proficient Teacher Accreditation requirements.
Key Requirements
- Degree in Early Childhood Education
- Extensive experience in a similar role (minimum 3 years in an Education and Care setting, business, government or community-based organisation).
- A competent understanding of relevant trends. Operational requirements and legislation in the education and care sector.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills that promote high team performance, with the ability to coach, mentor and manage staff.
- Ability to think strategically with a capacity for lateral thinking, creativity and problem solving.
- Understanding of operational and administrative requirements of an Education and Care service.
- Demonstrated experience in managing business budgetary processes.
- High level of communication skills both verbal and written including the capacity to interact with all levels of staff and the general public.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills, capacity to work to deadlines and set priorities.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
- Current approved or willingness to obtain upon appointment, First Aid, Emergency Asthma Management and Anaphylaxis Management training.
- Current C Class Driver's Licence.
- Current approved or willingness to obtain upon appointment Child Protection Training (CHCPRT025).
- Able to comply with the requirements of the Child Protection (Working with Children) Regulation 2013 through the provision of a Working with Children Check Clearance.
- Understand the Child Safe Standards relative to early childhood education and care.
- Provision of criminal record check clearance.

This position requires a pre employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug & alcohol screen, and the completion of a National Police Check.
Salary: $1826.10 to $1918.47 per week + super
Position Status: Permanent, Full Time - 37.5 hours
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week with a Rostered Day every three weeks.
