- Salary $106,323.88 to $123,335.16 p/a + super
- Permanent full time position – 35 hours per week

About the role
Council is currently seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Urban Planner to join our Urban and Heritage Planning Team.
In this senior role, you will contribute to shaping the future of our community through strategic planning, urban design, and heritage management initiatives that respect the unique character of the area.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and manage a range of strategic planning projects
- Contribute to the preparation and review of planning strategies, policies, and development controls
- Provide expert advice on urban design, zoning, land use, and heritage conservation matters
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, consultants, government agencies, and community stakeholders
- Mentor Junior Staff and provide leadership in best practice planning and policy development
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- 5 years experience in strategic planning
- A degree in Urban or Town Planning and eligibility for membership of a relevant professional institute
- A current Class C driver’s licence
- Strong knowledge of NSW planning legislation, the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, and the Local Government Act
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and policy development
- Proven ability to research and analyse planning issues, and develop innovative solutions
- Experience successfully managing projects and building stakeholder relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for the community
