Tamworth Regional Council currently has an outstanding opportunity for an individual looking to start their electrical career, learn and complete an electrical trade whilst developing their skills in the maintenance and operation of complex water supply and wastewater services.
Our ideal candidate will be motivated and looking to start their career as an electrician and have the ability to communicate effectively as well as the ability to understand and follow instructions.
The Apprentice Electrical Technician is responsible for:
Assisting with the provision of electrical services for Council’s water and wastewater treatment and distribution infrastructure, whilst completing studies to obtain a Certificate III in Electrotechnology (Electrician), together with other on-the-job training and short courses to develop the necessary skills and knowledge for a career in the electrical industry. The period of the apprenticeship employment is expected to be for a maximum four (4) year term.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED
- P1, P2 or C Class Drivers Licence for a Manual vehicle
- School Certificate or Record of School Achievement, including online numeracy and literacy test, (HSC highly regarded) reflecting ability in Mathematics, Science, Design & Technology and/or Industrial Technology
- Immunisations (willingness to undergo)

Salary range: Grade T4 - T7 - $803.30 - $1,042.10 per week plus 11.5% superannuation for a 38 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.
Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
Shortlisted applicants will be required to undertake a Pre-employment Medical Screening including Alcohol & Other Drugs Testing.
