Mid-Western Regional Council is seeking a Project Officer to join the Water & Sewer team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
The Project Officer will provide technical, business, and project management support to the Water and Sewer team in the development of Water and Sewer construction projects to required timeframes, costs, quality standards and scope.
The Role:
- Provide support to project managers throughout the duration of projects to resolve technical, environmental, contract and project management issues and optimise solutions through theconsidered implementation of appropriate procedures, guidelines, processes and practices;
- Ensure internal service providers, professional service contractors and minor physical works and services contractors are managed effectively;
- Assist in the preparation of procurement documentation including the Processing of Invoices, Request for Tender, Request for Quotations, Returnable Schedules and Procurement Evaluation Plans, Contracts and Service Agreements;
- Provide effective and efficient project management administration through the development of high quality documentation, ensuring components of projects are in line with Council objectives and are completed within the required scope, timeframes, costs and quality standards;
- Facilitate grant applications and complete mandatory reporting to grant funding bodies;
- Apply appropriate procedures, guidelines, policies and practices to ensure environmental, work health and safety requirements are incorporated into project and contract documentation; and
- Carry out other duties as directed by the Strategic Engineering Coordinator.
About You:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management or equivalent;
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a project management environment;
- Demonstrated ability in applying contract and project management procedures required for the development and/or implementation of Council projects;
- Proven ability in the use of effective decision making and problem solving techniques / processes;
- Excellent organisational and planning skills, including the capacity to work to deadlines and set priorities;
- Demonstrated ability to work and contribute as part of a team;
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety (WHS) responsibilities and a commitment to attending relevant WHS training;
- Highly developed computer skills – particularly in MS Office;
- Ability to manage a number of stakeholder groups;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
- Class C drivers licence.
What MWRC can Offer:
- The salary range being offered for this full-time position is $3,151.80 - $3,547.00 gross per fortnight plus superannuation which equates to an annual salary of $81,946.80 - $92,222 gross plus superannuation (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience).
