About the role

As a Senior Urban Planner, you will develop and review statutory and land use plans to ensure that growth is appropriately scaled, located, and delivers community benefits. You will be responsible for managing the delivery of activities that identify and plan for existing and future demands for Council and community assets, preparing strategies and plans to reflect these needs.

You can also expect to:

  • Develop, implement and review land use plans and strategies, planning proposals and statutory instruments to inform decision making in line with contemporary standards and legislative requirements.
  • Undertake complex research and analysis to provide timely and accurate expert advice, reports and briefs on land use planning to inform decisions.
  • Build effective working relationships within Council, government agencies, and the community to achieve Council goals.
  • Engage and manage consultants and contractors and review performance to ensure service delivery requirements are met.

About you

We are seeking a Senior Urban Planner possessing a thorough understanding of the way our city's built and natural environments influence the way the community live, work, and visit. Collaborative teamwork, influence and negotiating abilities, people management and development, project management, and the capacity to produce results with precision and efficiency constitute the fundamental objectives.

We are looking for an industrious individual with the following:

  • Tertiary or other qualifications and/or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

Salary: $108,863.41 - $121,927.19 pa
