The Role
A rewarding opportunity has presented itself for a dedicated and driven individual to join our team as a Clean City Officer
In this role you will Implement a range of mechanisms to address illegal dumping including education, engagement, policy implementation and enforcement. You will also undertake case management of matters under investigation and ensure that all investigation and compliance matters attend to the comprehensive recording mechanism in preparation for prosecution where appropriate.

 

*This opportunity will be offered on a permanent full-time basis

 

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Find, identify, record and report illegal dumping 
  • Implement a set of education and engagement strategies that will assist in reducing illegal dumping
  • Build internal and external relationships as well as use data and research to improve knowledge and understanding of the drivers of illegal dumping 
  • Effectively communicate with a diverse range of audiences through a wide range of channels. 
  • Manage and investigate incidents and issue penalties where required

You will have:

  • Certificate 1-IV in Regulatory Compliance or equivalent
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Local Government Act, Protection of the Environment and Operations Act, Environment Planning and Assessment Act and regulation, and other associated Acts.
  • Demonstrated understanding of education and engagement strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate, gather evidence and resolve matters in a methodical and timely manner.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, people skills, conflict resolution, and mediation and negotiation skills. 
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • High level communication, interpersonal skills and public presentation skills. 
  • Demonstrated experience in report writing including ability to measure, evaluate and meet reporting requirements. 
  • Ability to operate independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of computer and technology literacy 
  • Ability to work in a flexible environment, including weekends, and evenings.

 

The salary range for this opportunity starts at $90,858 (Grade G, Step 1) + 11.5% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience
