Are you looking to progress your career in Human Resources, with an interest in and passion for HR Systems and continuous improvement? The council is seeking a tertiary qualified and experienced, early career Human Resources professional, to join their HR team on a 10-month fixed term basis. You will provide operational support with critical workflows and processes across the employment life cycle, including recruitment and selection, onboarding, performance appraisals, and HR projects.

The role of Human Resources Officer includes:
• Facilitate the running of annual processes, including appraisals and employee engagement survey
• Develop and prepare reports
• Assisting the HR Business Partners with recruitment and selection processes and reporting
• Support with the development and regular review of HR policies and procedures
• Provide professional advice and support in response to customer enquiries
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes
• Act at the functional system subject matter expert, including supporting the planning and implementation of improvement projects
• Provide general HR administrative support as required
What we are seeking in our new team member:
1. Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or related field
2. 2-3 years’ relevant experience (with Local Government experience being highly desirable)
3. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in the preparation of reports and presentations
4. Strong IT and systems capability, with exposure to HRIS systems and advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
5. Ability to prioritise, plan and organise work independently
6. Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively within a collaborative team environment
7. Drivers Licence – C Class NSW
