How you’ll make a difference

Victoria Daly Regional Council is looking for a full-time Remote School Attendance Supervisor based in Yarralin, NT. 

As a Remote School Attendance Supervisor, you will guide the team to support school aged children to attend school regularly, on time by supporting the children, their parents, careers and families. 

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate the delivery of the Remote School Attendance program in Yarralin.
  • Work with the school principal, school council and community representatives to implement the strategy and complement existing services.
  • Create and implement term attendance plans.
  • Supervise and guide other team members to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Organise and ensure recourses are available to assist program officer in carrying out their requirements for the role.
  • Facilitate and encourage cooperative behavior with the children, parents, careers and other family members. 
  • Provide guidance and support when there are attendance issue and assist where possible to resolve them.

To qualify, candidates will need knowledge and experience in working with school aged children, including the ability to communicate and build good relationships with external stakeholders and families.

  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a cohesive team
  • Ability to write correspondence and report writing
  • Software proficiency
  • Ability and willingness to live in a remote community
  • Work Health & Safety understanding
