The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a conscientious individual to carry out civil works restoration projects for Council managed infrastructure and assets damaged or destroyed by a declared natural disaster event under Commonwealth Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
As Project Officer - Disaster Recovery, you will assist in the development and management of infrastructure civil works projects as well as assist with the assessment of tenders and procurement of materials and services. You will prepare project design, tender, and contract documents in consultation with Council’s Procurement Team.

About You
We are seeking an individual who holds a Diploma level qualification in project management or another relevant field (indicative) and has a current NSW Class C Drivers Licence.
You will have the following skills and experience;
- Demonstrated high-level project management skills including the ability to work independently and to be able to complete multiple projects within budget and timeframe.
- Demonstrated knowledge of budget and resource management processes.
- Demonstrated experience in engaging with and managing consultants, sub-contractors and construction staff.
- High level of verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively negotiate.
Benefits
This is a grant funded, fixed term full time position working 35 hours per week until 31 December 2026; with the potential of extending subject to successful grant funding application.
The total remuneration package for this position commences at $92,286.77 gross per annum, comprising of:
- $1,591.70 per week base salary
- $183.05 per week superannuation (calculated at 11.5%)
