The Safety & Wellbeing Business Partner will work closely with staff from across the organisation to develop, implement and continually improve Council's WH&S Management system. In this role you will manage Council's Recover at Work program and provide proactive advice across the organisation on all facets of staff WH&S and wellbeing.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Developing, implementing and monitoring Council’s WHS Management System (WHSMS)
  • Managing Council’s Recover at Work Program including acting as the Return to Work Coordinator and coordinating Workers Compensation 
  • Working closely with our Health & Wellbeing Champions to develop and implement Council’s Health & Wellbeing Program and associated activities
  • Providing effective WH&S and wellbeing advice and guidance to staff across Council
  • Working with Council's directorates to ensure all WHS
    systems of work (e.g. risk assessments, SOPs, SWPs, SWMS etc.) are current and valid
  • Collecting WH&S statistical data and writing reports to be presented to the Executive team

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role where you have had to lead Safety & Wellbeing for an organisation with a diverse range of functions
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in WHS or other relevant discipline
  • Sound understanding of the Recover at Work process
  • Demonstrated experience in building effective relationships at all levels of an organisation
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to prepare meaningful reports
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to plan and deliver a range of tasks and projects

Key Requirements:

  • COVID-19 vaccination for all employees (2 Vaccines)
  • Willingness to complete a Criminal History Check
  • Current NSW Driver's Licence
