About the Opportunity

Gilgandra Shire Council has a rewarding opportunity for dedicated Registered Nurses to join our team in the Cooee Lodge Aged Care Facility.

These positions are offered on a full-time, part-time or casual, Monday - Sunday basis with participation in an on-call roster for after business hours. Sponsorship and Aged Care incentives may be available!

Reporting to the Clinical Care Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing clinical nursing care to residents through assessments, planning and evaluations in conjunction with the residents and/or their representatives and the appropriate team members.

Day-to-day duties may include (but will not be limited to):

  • Consulting with residents/representatives, allied health professionals and other relevant stakeholders;
  • Managing care plans, including wound care and outcomes within the Facility;
  • Demonstrating effective and positive communication with all stakeholders through established channels and lines of communication;
  • Promoting a teamwork spirit within the care team and between all service types;
  • Ensuring all documentation is in compliance as per policy, procedures, ACFI and Accreditation; and
  • Following WH&S guidelines, including infection control and reporting mechanisms for general welfare and safety of self, all staff, residents and others on the premises.

About You

To be considered for this position you will be a Registered Nurse with current registration with AHPRA.

This role would be well suited to a team player, willing to learn, take instruction, share knowledge and is confident in their abilities to motivate and influence those around them positively to ensure the Facility's key principles and values are upheld.

Gilgandra Shire Council is looking for an individual with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively to other facility staff and departments. 

Finally, you will be competent in computer literacy, specifically Microsoft Office Suite. 

Please Note: A current, unencumbered drivers licence is essential.
