About the role

The Technical Officer (Facilities) will work collaboratively to provide cost effective, contemporary and customer focused facility management to Council owned and managed facilities across the region.

In this role, the successful candidate will utilise their technical expertise and undertake tasks such as:

  • Assist in the implementation of asset management strategies, plans and programs associated with the facilities asset and building classifications
  • Coordinate the maintenance and repairs of building assets
  • Engage, coordinate and manage contractors, trades and specialist services
  • Provide building maintenance related advice to stakeholders within the organisation
  • Maintain asset management data

About you

You will be customer focused, encouraging collaboration through effective communication and your consultative approach, ensuring stakeholders are well informed.

You will have the ability to work within established guidelines, manage multiple priorities, and work under pressure to deliver work according to set time frames and within budget, while meeting stakeholder expectations.

Additionally you will be forward thinking and constantly looking for new ways to deliver the best possible outcomes for our community.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and technical expertise in relation to maintenance and operation of built assets and infrastructure
  • Experience in either property or facilities management and/or asset management
  • Experience in contractor management
  • Project management experience
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of the relevant Building Standards, Codes, Regulations and Acts
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders at strategic and operational levels
  • High level communication, consultative, interpersonal, and negotiating skills (both oral and written), with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders at strategic and operational levels.
