Temporary full time up to 2 years

Salary: $2,137 to $2,383 per fortnight (based on 38 hours per week) plus superannuation and a 9 day fortnight.

Appointed salary will be based on skills, qualifications and experience.

About us

Hornsby Shire is located on Sydney's upper north shore, approximately 25 kilometres north of the CBD and approximately 45 minutes south of the Central Coast. Known as the ‘Bushland Shire’, our local government area is characterised by bushland comprising national park, major waterways, natural reserves and rural landscapes, with the rest of the Shire combining urban, rural and open spaces.

About the role

Reporting to the CRC Supervisor, this role will require you to work in our Community Recycling Centre at Thornleigh as a front facing customer service provider to assist our residents to recycle a various range of items. A high level of customer service is required in this position.

You will also be responsible for carrying out warehousing and logistics activities on the site including loading and unloading trucks and the movement of items around the site with a forklift.

About you

The position requires a practical minded person with good oral communication skills. The person will be expected to keep up to date with current best practices on storage and handling of dangerous goods, and have a sense of responsibility for safe handling, storage and dispatching of all waste items brought to the Centre.

Saturday work is required for this position.
