Salary from $72,076 up to $86,176 per annum plus superannuation
(Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications)

About the role

You will be carrying out plumbing maintenance and construction projects at Council facilities and amenities across Wollongong to ensure they continue to provide a high and consistent level of service for the community. You will be working on both commercial and public domain assets as part of a plumbing team of four plumbers, carrying out plumbing, drainage and gas works for Council clients.

This position is based on a 9-day fortnight and will be based at Council's Central Depot. Your team operates in a dynamic work environment with a high level of reactive maintenance tasks alongside planned project work. You may work autonomously however you are also part of a highly skilled building and facilities team.

You will need to be physically capable of working in challenging situations whilst problem solving and maintaining expectations of the general public. You will be rostered for out of hours call-out work which may involve nights or weekend work.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leaks and investigative work.
  • Repairs and pro-active maintenance.
  • Scheduled maintenance including RPZ and TMV servicing.
  • New plumbing projects.
