The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for an energetic individual to operate a Grader plus a variety of plant equipment for the purpose of constructing and maintaining BVSC road assets. 

As Unsealed Roads Team Member (Rural Grader Operator), you will operate various plant and vehicles on road construction and maintenance projects as well as participate in the planning and scheduling of road making and maintenance activities. You will carry out a wide range of ancillary labouring activities including (but not limited to): concreting, asphalting, pothole repair, drain clearance, material handling, hand excavation, vegetation clearance, environmental controls, and road furniture installation.

About You

We are seeking an individual who holds the following licences and qualifications:

  • School Certificate (Year 10) or equivalent
  • SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • NSW RMS ‘Traffic Controller’ Qualification
  • NSW RMS ‘Implement Traffic Control’ Qualification
  • NSW RMS Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence
  • Chainsaw (Basic) Competency
  • Civil Plant Licence or Competency (Grader at a minimum)

You will have the following skills and experience;

  • Proven recent mechanical grader operation experience working on unsealed pavement asset maintenance activities or similar including; graders, rollers and backhoes.
  • Three (3) years recent plant experience working on road construction and maintenance projects (indicative).
  • Demonstrated relevant experience in civil engineering works which may include (but not limited to): road construction and maintenance, earth moving, laying of pipe and box culverts, shouldering, drainage maintenance and installation of environmental controls.
  • Experience in operating and using a variety of hand and power tools which may include (but not be limited to) chainsaws, spray equipment and pumps.

Benefits

This is a permanent full time position working 38 hours per week.

The total remuneration package for this position commences at $71,872.01 gross per annum, comprising of:

  • $1,239.60 per week base salary
  • $142.55 per week superannuation (calculated at 11.5%)
