About Us

Being one the fastest growing regional councils we work hard to ensure that our recreational spaces including parks, sports grounds and green spaces are in excellent condition for our community. We have over 163 parks, 80+ hectares of sportsgrounds, 384 hectares of open recreation space and 83 playgrounds.
About the Role
This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day work and functioning of one of Council's recreation works teams producing quality results whilst maintaining high WHS standards. You will undertake works as part of the team and act as the primary link between the Recreation Works Coordinator and the staff in the Team.
In this position you will provide expertise in the area of horticulture by maintaining Council's parks, open space reserves, gardens and grassed road medians and verges. You will be accountable for maintaining the health and safety of self, fellow workers and the public, as well as maintaining accurate records in relation to maintenance programs and WHS.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have a Certificate III in Horticulture or equivalent, relevant industry knowledge and demonstrated experience in horticulture including the use of plant and equipment. You will also have experience supervising, coaching, positively influencing and supporting staff on a day to day basis. It is essential that you have a proven ability to interpret information and produce reports for decision making. Your verbal communication skills and customer service skills will assist you with dealing with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Benefits
This is a permanent full-time role working 38 hours per week with a base salary ranging from $75,227 - $83,502 per year based on demonstrated competencies + 11.5% p.a superannuation.
