About the role

Are you a skilled Projects Officer looking to make a real impact to our City?

We are looking for a motivated Senior Project Officer to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. As part of our dynamic team, you’ll work closely with our Principal Architect and a dedicated team to deliver important building projects that will shape the future of our community. From civic buildings to recreational facilities, our diverse portfolio offers rewarding challenges and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

In this role, you will undertake duties such as:

  • Manage the project lifecycle from start to finish, ensuring projects stay on track and within budget
  • Formulate project briefs and design solutions including feasibility and optioneering
  • Coordinate and lead building project teams, including consultants and contractors
  • Develop and manage project budgets, expenditure and reporting financials accurately
  • Implement best practices in design and construction to achieve safe and sustainable outcomes
  • Liaise with stakeholders to understand needs and ensure project success
  • Assess existing assets for potential reuse or renovation opportunities
  • Identify and mitigate project risks throughout the process
  • Prepare necessary documentation for project tendering

About you

  • Substantial experience in project management in the building and construction industry
  • Tertiary Qualification in project management or a related discipline
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, including budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and quality control
  • Sound leadership skills and ability to set direction and support a cross-functional team
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to deliver on outcomes with key stakeholders
  • Proficiency in time and cost management to meet critical targets
