Be at the forefront of energy management, innovation and sustainability as you lead Tweed Shire Council’s efforts to adopt the latest technologies in energy reduction and renewable energy systems.
You will play a pivotal role in this position which provides the technical and electrical engineering authority for the whole of the organisation and will include ensuring that Council complies with all statutory requirements under current legislation, and safe systems of work are met at all times in relation to all of the electrical asset base.
About the role:
- Manage Council's electrical assets, projects, safety, standards, and documentation.
- Oversee continuous improvements while providing advice on energy reduction and sustainable technologies, supporting renewable energy adoption and zero emissions goals.
- Collaborate with two of Councils Units, Water and Wastewater and Parks and Active Communities, to manage a diverse portfolio of electrical assets that support essential infrastructure and community services.

We are seeking:
- Diploma qualifications in Electrical Engineering (or higher qualifications).
- Strong technical background with substantial experience in design review, control systems engineering and energy analysis and service provision.
- A passion to lead the management of our electrical asset portfolio, ensuring high standards of compliance and best practices.
- Willingness to proactively seek improvements and implement standardisation within the management of electrical assets and renewable energy and systems.

Where it's located:
This position is based in Mechanical and Electrical Facility, Chinderah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
