About the role
We now have an opportunity for a Rates Officer to join our Revenue Services team on a temporary full-time basis! In this role, you will be responsible for processing applications from pensioners for rates rebates and deferments, managing property ownership and address changes. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential when providing advice and support to clients in person, over the phone, and via email.
In this role, you will undertake duties such as:
- Process applications from Pensioners for Rates rebates and deferments
- Administer changes such as ownership, address, amendments to property details
- Check and correct daily reports
- Create property files for new properties
- Provide advice and information both in person, over the phone and via email
- Maintain links for mapping information
- Process payments and negotiate payment plans and direct debit arrangements
Skills & Experience
- Working knowledge of the rating function
- Good customer service and client liaison skills
- Working knowledge of the applicable legislation
- Experience working within Authority and Technology One are strongly preferred
