About the role

As a Parks Maintenance Plant Operator / Driver, you’ll help maintain and improve Council’s parks, sportsfields and open spaces, contributing to safe, high-quality environments for the Inner West community.

Working within the Parks & Streetscape Operations team, you’ll carry out a range of hands-on maintenance tasks such as mowing, turf care, planting and seasonal sportsfield preparation. You’ll operate plant and equipment, respond to community needs, and ensure work is delivered safely and in line with Council standards.

This role suits someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and can work both independently and as part of a team to deliver strong community outcomes.

Remuneration

$64,459.72 - $71,080.88 + 12% Superannuation

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications

  • Relevant horticultural qualification OR equivalent industry experience in parks and sportsfields operations.
  • Ability to work without close supervision.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with field devices (eg. tablets) for managing daily team work plans.
  • Understanding and commitment to equal employment opportunities, diversity, work health and safety, ethical practice and acting with probity at all times.
  • NSW Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Suitable level of fitness to perform the inherent duties of the position.
