The Position

The Shire of Manjimup is seeking a highly efficient and effective individual to provide customer service and administrative support to our Development & Regulation Directorate. This role is mainly responsible for providing customer service and administrative tasks including processing of applications for Planning with some assistance to Environmental Health and Building as required.

 

This role includes:

  • Provide an efficient and effective customer service and administration function for the Shire’s Planning Services department.
  • Assist the Manager Planning Services in administrative tasks, planning applications and individual projects, ensuring all is effectively carried out.
  • Liaise with Building, Environmental Health, Rangers and Emergency and Technical Services (Engineering) on planning related matters, as directed.
  • Provide Planning Services with efficient and effective administrative and project support.

 

The Person

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Competent in administrative duties applicable to an office environment.
  • High level of customer service skills and experience in dealing with difficult customers.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in record keeping or inventory management.
  • Knowledge of the local area (Desirable).
  • Experience in planning, development, or local government (Desirable).
