OOSH Educator/Relief Educational Leader (Part Time)

Our Children’s Services team run OOSH Centres based from Moruya, Batemans Bay or Narooma. We provide safe, fun spaces for children aged between 5-12 years of age to hang out afterschool and during school holidays.
Based from Narooma, we have an opportunity available for an energetic and enthusiastic person who enjoys working with children to contribute to a safe, healthy and caring education and care service. Working after school and during school holidays, you will assist with providing social and recreational activities for children aged 5-12 years old. You will also be required to take on supervisory responsibilities as rostered during periods of staff leave and school holidays.
To apply for this position you must be 18 years of age or above, hold a current First Aid certificate including asthma and anaphylaxis HLTAID004 or HLTAID012; Working with Children Check clearance; and an approved Child Protection certificate. You will have significant understanding of the social and recreational needs of primary school aged children. In addition, when working in the supervisory role, you will require team leadership skills, initiative and experience in planning activities for primary school aged children.
This part time position has standard hours of 17.5 hours per week during school terms. Hours increase during school holidays and may be up to 38 hours per week as rostered.
As the OOSH Educator your total remuneration will be in the range of $31.60 to $33.44 gross per hour comprised of:
- $28.73 to $30.40 base salary,
- $2.87 to $3.04 superannuation (calculated at 10%)
As the Relief Educational Leader your total remuneration will be in the range of $34.68 to $37.06 gross per hour comprised of:
- $31.53 to $33.69 base salary, plus
- $3.15 to $3.37 superannuation (calculated at 10%)
The NSW Government has advised that all early childhood education and care staff are required to have received two doses of COVID-19 vaccination to ensure the health and safety of our early childhood education and care community.
It is an offence under the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 and Child Protection (Working with Children) Regulation 2013 for a person convicted of a serious sex offence to apply for this position.
A verified clearance as a result of a Working with Children Check is a requirement for this position as well as a satisfactory outcome as a result of a National Criminal History Record Check.
