Kindergarten Teacher - Richmond Kindergarten
Permanent part time - 22.8 hours per week - Monday-Wednesday
Salary - $73,810.61 - $116,185.05 per annum (pro-rata) + Super (Salary level dependent on qualification, teacher level and years of service)

Yarra City Council currently has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and passionate degree qualified Early Childhood Teacher to join our Children’s Services team.
In 2024, the permanent Part Time position will teach a group of 22 three-year-olds on Mondays & Tuesdays at Richmond Kindergarten, with Wednesdays reserved as a non-contact day.
The successful applicant will become integral members of our Kindergarten team, providing the highest standard of education and care to the youngest citizens in our diverse community. We’re looking for a Teacher who is passionate about teaching in the early years, exploring Indigenous perspectives and trauma informed practice, potentially with some Bush Kinder experience.

Being successfully appointed as an Early Childhood Teacher in Yarra means that you will be able to enjoy VECTEA equivalent employment conditions, including:
- Pay rates aligned with years of experience and validation level,
- Paid leave over term breaks,
- 12.5 hours non-contact time each week pro-rata,
- 25.5 hours maximum of face-to-face teaching time pro-rata,

Required qualifications and attributes:
- Bachelor of Education (Early Years), (or equivalent),
- Up to date First Aid, CPR, EpiPen and asthma management qualifications,
- Valid Early Childhood Teacher VIT Registration and ability to renew,
- Team focused approach,
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate responsive routines and programs guided by the approved learning frameworks,
- Current mandatory reporting training, and
- You must have the right to live and work in this location to apply for this job.
Desired attributes and experience:
- At least 3 years’ experience working as a degree qualified teacher in a funded Kindergarten Program,
- An understanding of the importance of Indigenous perspectives education,
- Bush Kinder (or other nature pedagogy) experience,
- Experience with Xplor or other online learning platform, and
- Ability to demonstrate a competent level of English, both written and spoken.
