Temporary full-time Insurance and Risk Officer position available up to January 2025! 


About the role:

This role is pivotal in maintaining and managing Wingecarribee Shire Council’s insurance portfolio, excluding Workers Compensation and Motor vehicle claims. Responsibilities include overseeing insurance renewals, handling insurance claims, and maintaining a close collaboration with Council’s insurer. Additionally, the position will contribute to implementing Council’s Risk Management Framework and promoting risk initiatives across the organization.

Essential Criteria:

  1. Solid experience working in an insurance environment and undertaking insurance activities.
  2. Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and Council policy and procedures which relate to insurance and risk management.
  3. Demonstrated practical commitment to Workplace Health and Safety.
  4. High level proficiency in the use of computerised systems including Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  5. Demonstrated experience in working in a multi-disciplined team environment.
  6. Demonstrated practical experience in dealing with difficult customers including strong conflict resolution skills.
  7. Excellent customer service and communication (verbal and written) skills
  8. High attention to detail and ability to prioritise and complete tasks efficiently and to deadlines.
