Description
We are seeking a reliable and hard-working general operational to join our busy maintenance team on a permanent basis. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining our civil assets that support our Transport and Public Access network within the Blue Mountains Council Local Government Area. The position will perform manual labouring duties associated with maintenance and operations including but not limited to, pothole patching, sealing, repair or replacement of roadside furniture (including signs and guideposts), footpath maintenance and construction, kerb and gutter, concreting, drainage, and stormwater pipes.
The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude, a willingness to follow instructions, a team player, proven experience in maintenance activities or a willingness to obtain.
You will have:
- WHS General Construction Induction (White) card.
- Contemporary knowledge and or previous experience in undertaking labouring duties for civil maintenance and construction works.
- Previous experience in the safe operation of small plant and equipment including but not limited to ride-on mowers, edgers, rollers and handheld tools.
- Proven ability to work productively as a member of a team and contribute to team goals.
- Current Class C Drivers Licence.
- Proven experience in the construction or maintenance of roads, drains and/or other civil works or capability to learn and undertake.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to deal in an appropriate manner with the general public
- Competent level of literacy and numeracy
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain focus and provide attention to detail for work activities and tasks.
- Ability and willingness to obtain MR licences and qualifications for operating plant and equipment as nominated by service leaders
Remuneration: base salary commencing at $50,971 gross per annum
+ adverse working conditions of $1,035 gross per annum
+ 11.5% superannuation
+ performance payment 1% - 3.5% annual salary
+ annual award increase
