About the Opportunity

play a key role in supporting Council’s Building and Facilities Plans! As a skilled carpenter, you'll handle everything from small renovations to routine maintenance, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Work closely with a dedicated team, manage maintenance requests, and keep our facilities running smoothly—all while communicating effectively with staff and users. What you will bring

Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:

  • Minimum Certificate III in Carpentry or Certificate III in Carpentry & Joinery or equivalent Trade.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in building and construction in a variety of carpentry works including alterations, renovations, painting, flooring, plastering, concreting, woodwork and sub-contractor supervision.
  • Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • Working Safely at Heights or willing to obtain.
  • Elevated Works Platform or willing to obtain.
  • Current Medium Ridged Driver’s Licence or willing to obtain.
  • Forklift licence or willing to obtain.
  • Chemical Handing.
  • First Aid or willing to obtain.


Salary and conditions

The position is classified within Band 4 of Council’s Current Enterprise Agreement ranging from $70,611.32 to $75,498.28 per annum plus industry allowance, tool allowance and statutory superannuation.
