Job/Responsibilities

In this position you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating work activities and programs for Support Workers within Orange City Council Disability Service including:

  • Supervising a team in the provision of residential care and support (including personal care and all activities of daily living) and individual support to adults with disability in a supported independent living residential setting.
  • Coordinating the staffing arrangements for your team (including rosters, schedules and NDIS / other funding requirements / completing performance appraisals).
  • Ensuring the ongoing development of a strong, effective and collaborative team.
  • Planning, implementing and evaluating programs suitable to the individual care needs and interest of people with disability.
  • Undertaking all required administrative tasks in a timely manner.
  • Liaising professionally with internal and external stakeholders.

Skills/Experience

To be successful in this position you will need to have:

  • A Certificate IV in Disability Services or Community Services.
  • Experience in a similar role including supervising the delivery of services to people with a disability.
  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership, staff management and the provision of a safe, supportive and productive team environment.
  • Previous experience planning, implementing and evaluating programs suitable to the individual needs and interest of people with disability.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Validation.
  • A current Class C drivers’ licence
  • A current First Aid Certificate
  • Ability to obtain a satisfactory Criminal History Check
  • Working with Children Check
