About the position:

The Development Integrity Officer – Pool Compliance is responsible for ensuring the City’s swimming pools and residential pool owners comply with relevant local government and building legislation. The position assists the City’s Development Integrity team ensuring the Cit’s obligations and functions are carried out in a legal, professional and efficient manner.

Key accountabilities: 

  • Undertake routine inspections of residential pools within the City to ensure compliance with relevant pool legislation, and investigate breaches (alleged or otherwise)
  • Assist in the implementation of Council resolutions and provide regular reports to the Coordinator Development Integrity on progress of action
  • Assist and contribute towards the identification, development, implementation and review of guidelines, policies and procedures in relation to pool compliance
  • Maintain knowledge of legislative changes pertaining to pool compliance and contribute towards the identification, development, implementation and review of guidelines, policies and procedures

Position requirements:

The successful applicant will possess relevant experience local government investigations or within the development industry, preferably in pool compliance. Sound written, verbal and interpersonal skills for negotiation and communication with customers and the public are essential.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits:

A salary ranging from $78,497 to $82,745 per annum will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
