Construction Engineer – Major Projects

Location:  Tamworth, NSW


  • The Construction engineer - Major Projects will be tasked with delivering Construction projects across the Tamworth Region,
  • Projects to be undertaken may involve significant crossover between Underground services, roadworks and or Bridge and Culvert works
  • Undertake operational planning, budget review and preparation, estimating and programming of capital works;
  • Hold financial control of various activities and projects undertaken by the Division


We are seeking a highly experienced engineer, that is self-starting, capable to communicating clearly with staff across the organisation in Oral and Written forms, has experience in delivering projects on time and within approved budgets. Knowledge of IMS systems would be advantageous.

The Construction Engineer – Major projects is responsible for:

  • Engineering design for Civil infrastructure
  • Engineering infrastructure construction & maintenance
  • Environmental engineering
  • Project planning and management
  • Contract preparation, supervision & administration
  • Implementation of TRC’s existing Integrated Management System on Civil Construction Projects
  • Innovate and develop new process/procedures in line with TRC’s existing Integrated Management System


  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications acceptable for membership to the Institution of Engineers, Australia.
  • 5 to 10 Years Construction/project management
  • WHS General Induction for Construction Work White Card;
  • Prepare Workzone Traffic Management Plans
  • Driver Licence Minimum Class C
  • Understanding of Integrated management Systems and ISO certification
  • Experience of complex projects
  • Eligible for Membership of the Institute of Engineers, Australia

Salary range: Grade 20 - $111,604.75 - $120,767.30 plus 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance,  Superannuation and leaseback vehicle for a 35 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.

Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
