About the role

The Project Assistant - Business Operations plays a crucial role in supporting the Major Events and Festivals team within the City Life Division. Working alongside the Business Operations team, you will provide administrative and project support to help deliver a diverse range of major events and festivals across the City of Sydney. You will be responsible for managing contracts, supporting event planning and execution, and coordinating staff to ensure the smooth delivery of events. This role requires someone with excellent organisational skills, strong communication abilities, and a proactive approach to administrative support in a busy environment.

 

What you will do:

liaise with internal and external stakeholders to manage contracts, from preparation to completion, ensuring compliance with policies and legal obligationsassist in developing and maintaining administrative systems and processes, looking for continuous improvements to facilitate successful event deliveryprovide administrative support, including managing information, reporting, minute-taking, task allocation, and meeting schedulingsupport the Major Events and Festivals’ Business Operations team in event planning and delivery to ensure seamless execution.

 

To be successful, you will have:

tertiary qualifications, such as a Diploma in Business Administration, or equivalent experience in providing business/administrative support to a busy, customer-focused operationhighly developed communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levelsstrong proficiency in Excel and experience with Office 365 applicationsproven ability to meet strict deadlines with minimal supervision, while managing competing tasks in a fast-paced environment.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
