About the role
The Office of the Lord Mayor (OLM) is seeking a Community Response & Engagement Coordinator to join the Community Response and Engagement team.
As a Community Response & Engagement Coordinator you will be responsible for providing high-quality strategic support to the Community Response & Engagement Manager. You will help ensure responses to Lord Mayoral correspondence are timely and effective, and build and leverage relationships with the local community to ensure the Lord Mayor’s activities are communicated effectively and perceived positively.
To be successful, you will have:
Tertiary qualifications at degree level in a relevant discipline. Experience in community engagement, consultation and/or communications, problem-solving community issues on public projects and dealing with controversial issues.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write strategic documents, reports and correspondence; discuss and present ideas; and liaise effectively with a broad range of diverse stakeholders.
What we’re looking for:
Demonstrated experience in problem solving community issues on public projects and dealing with controversial issues.Demonstrated experience in responding to correspondence from community members and diverse stakeholders.Demonstrated experience in stakeholder relationship management with a broad range of diverse people, organisations and community groups.Willingness to work outside of regular working hours when required to meet the demands of the position.

We offer a teams-based approach to flexibility. Our flexible working benefits include 26-week parental leave, paid partner leave of 6 weeks and paid super for up to 52 weeks of parental leave. You’ll have the opportunity to work a 19-day month with flexible working options.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
