About the role

We are seeking an experiencedBusiness Support Officerto join our Public Domain team. In this role, you will be a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, providing high‑quality professional support to ensure the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the team.

You will manage and triage incoming enquiries, prepare documentation, maintain accurate data and records, and provide administrative, financial, and systems support. Your contribution will support effective decision‑making, efficient workflows, and a positive customer experience.

The Public Domain team is responsible for assessing applications submitted by external parties to carry out works and overseeing construction activities on land owned or managed by the City of Sydney. This role is critical to supporting a diverse and fast‑paced team, enabling leadership and staff to deliver high‑quality, accurate, and customer‑focused services.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in administration, business support, coordination, or office management
  • Sound knowledge and experience in financial processing, procurement, and contract administration
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines
  • A patient, customer‑focused approach with strong problem‑solving capabilities
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A proactive and solutions‑focused mindset, with the ability to improve systems and streamline processes

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
