The role:

Kiama Council has established a new Assets Unit within the Design and Development Team comprising an Infrastructure Engineer as Unit Leader and this Asset Information Officer position. Both positions are newly established and provide an exciting opportunity to bring your asset and information management experience, knowledge and passion to Council and work as part of this newly founded team to help Council move forward in the effective planning and management of our infrastructure assets.

The role of Asset Information Officer manages Council's asset management information system and supporting processes and supports Council to meet its strategic planning and statutory reporting requirements. In this role you will engage in best practice asset management principles by assisting with capturing assets, monitoring the condition of assets and assisting with the development and implementation of capital works and scheduled maintenance programs.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Completed an industry recognised Certificate IV or higher qualification in Civil Design, Construction, Asset Management, Surveying or Information Systems
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in the use and/or administration of an asset management information system (Asset register)
  • Understanding of asset-related reporting requirements for NSW Office of Local Government and associated entities
  • Experience in scope and cost estimate preparation for minor infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, GIS and SAP Crystal Reports in particular, with data analysis, manipulation and reporting
  • Knowledge of Australian accounting standards and associated asset management requirements.

About you:

To be successful in this role you will have strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain Council's Asset Management systems, prepare cost estimates and assist in preparing submissions and reports to meet internal and statutory reporting requirements. Your organisational skills will allow you to meet deadlines and your strong written and verbal communication skills will enable you to communicate in an effective manner.

 We offer:

  • Permanent full time, 35 hours per week
  • Access to flexi-time in accordance with Council's accrued time clock protocol
  • Annual Salary from $65,546.00 to $78,421.20 (depending on qualifications, skills and experience)
  • plus 10% superannuation
  • Access to the Fitness Passport
